Grundy Area Arts Council
GAAC Mission
Grundy Area Arts council, formed in 1993, supports the arts and arts education in Grundy County, Tennessee and the surrounding plateau area. Since inception, support of the art educators and arts education in area schools has been a primary function. Additionally, the GAAC has provided fiscal agency and collaborative support for projects in arts, arts education, arts and economic development and arts advocacy from Tennessee Arts Commission, the South Cumberland Community Fund, the Monteagle Sunday School Assembly and other funding sources.
JAM Mission & Beliefs
“We envision a world in which all children have the opportunity to experience community through the joy of participating in traditional mountain music together.
Our mission is to provide communities with the tools and support they need to teach children to play and dance to traditional old time and bluegrass music.
We believe that children who are actively engaged in traditional mountain music are more connected and better prepared to strengthen their communities for future generations.”
